jumpstarting at 100/full

Whilst on my first project to deliver three v490s to a customer, I despair at the network switch ports being forced to 100/Full. I’m shocked this is still standard practice when IEEE 802.3u fast ethernet auto-negotiation has been working quite happily since 1995!

The below boot invocation halved the install time from 1hour 19mins to 36minutes!

On the v490, I forced a boot net installation at 100/Full duplex by using :

ok> boot /dev/network@1:speed=100,duplex=full – install
