Virgin Media cable install issues

Virgin Media performed very badly when we had our cable service installed a few months ago, see the state in which our property was left afterward.

Most noticeably, the flashing was left hanging off under the guttering, a presumably surplus cable has been cut and left dangling in front of the upstairs window.

You can see the cable used is far too short for its purpose having been stretched from the guttering of an adjacent property and pinned with just one tack to the brickwork.

I’ve placed a complaint with them today, lets see what they can do to help fix their embarrassingly poor installation.

Customer service have ignored my email, and made no attempt to contact me with regards to rectifying this bodged job. Second email sent to request update on the matter.

Today (at approx. 9:00am) an engineer in a Virgin Media fluorescent jacket arrived outside the house, appearing to inspect the mess of cabling hanging from below the guttering. Though he tried to ring both our next door neighbours door bells and received no reply, he failed to call at our house, despite making eye contact with my partner at the front door.

Alas, he left without saying a word…

Finally get a reply from Virgin Media who, having looked at the photos were ‘appalled at the poor quality of the installation’, and rightly so. They promise to send a technician around on the 1st October between 8am and 1pm.

Though I didn’t work from home this day to see the technician arrive, it’s clear that they made some efforts to tidy up the mess, it isn’t a perfect job but it has made the house look presentable once again. (update pics to follow)
